I love quotes. Little pieces of philosophical brilliance in a bite size offering providing inspiration or possibly motivation. They are like movie trailers for concepts & principles. They can inspire hope. They can move you to action. I will never forget my father giving me Bartlett’s Big Book of Quotations. I loved that book. Loved it. I read it for the funny quotes. I read it for the brilliant quotes. I read it to discover new ideas. I fail to accurately convey how enjoyable that moment is, when you read a quote, smile, and say “that’s great”.
I love to talk about quotes. I love to discuss concepts & philosophies. I could do that pretty much all day. Take quotes we like & see how we can contextually apply them to our lives. See how we can better ourselves in the process. Find these amazing thought provoking gems of wisdom, inspiration, brilliance, or all of the above in one set of words that appeals to your heart, mind, & soul. It’s like a treasure hunt for knowledge. Normally, I like to add in a quote here or there, however, today I’m going to just include three quotes I love. Let them speak for themselves today. I’ll probably revisit them later to see what additional inspiration we can pull out, but for now we will start with a quote from one of the most well known authors today (and someone with a phenomenal story):
Rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life.” —J.K. Rowling
Next, a man who was in a concentration camp during World War II. His story is so powerful, and amazing. Talk about inspiring. He is the definition.
Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.
― Viktor E. Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning
Lastly, today I want to leave you with a quote from an athlete who gives you a secret to being successful in any endeavor.
Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can. — Arthur Ashe
All great quotes! Thanks for the inspiration!
I know you love them as much as I do – quotes that is! Thanks for stopping by!
